Do what's right...instead of what the rules say

We run a strategy and innovation workshop and (as one part of it), have been looking at different ways to view the world, including "shared space".  This is an urban design concept which aims to create better, safer traffic environments by focusing on improving the traffic environment for all users, and on people noticing who is around them and taking personal responsibility, rather than relying on lots of rules, signs, traffic lights and so on.  Our question has been: how can we take the "shared space" concept into how we work in teams and with our clients?  What would happen if we took away all the rules, signs and symbols and asked people to really notice who is in the space with them and what everyone needs?
