Backbone for long term Sustainability

Most leaders plan things for their benefit during their career span in the organsiation. Herein the agenda underlying is what's the impact its going to have for me or my team in the short term. This is a challenge whenever we want to overcome the troubles of adaptability . They have to live and impact in the present yet understand that a reasonable live and let live approach has to be followed which is in tune with changing times. Values must be kept intact and needs must be fulfilled yet rationalisation of this in the form of ego and wants should be avoided .

A trickle effect of this down the line can automatically create a very solid organsiation wherein there is a balance between objectivity and obsession with short term resultsTeams become accountable and innovative in tune with times.

Michele ,

I would ensure that focus is not only on whether it looks good by the stakeholder (s) / implementer(s) but its really good , meaningful and wholesome to a much larger cause / mass than individual ego's . I would encourage a buy in and discussion with transparency down the line so that compliance is automatic .

Hi Naveen, thanks for sharing this mini-hack... what practical changes would you make to HR processes and practices so that behaviors and mindsets are more long-term and less "egocentric?"

Best,

Michele

Amen! I'd love people's thoughts on how those who have the talent to look further into the future can share this with the majority who fear looking further into the future and/or don't consider their impact on sustainability?
