There is a vast amoint of books or articles to read to get informed and stay on the edge of what you do. No one can read them all. Plus, external information is a great way to stay up to date with your knowledge and remain adaptative. Public libraries are a good solution that some companies have experimented. But what about having employees make a public resume of a book they hve read in their team or more broadly, or to whoever may be interested, once a week ? Every thursday at lunch one employee would come and publicly summarize a set of reading, giving him the chance to read and to publicly expose some of his knowledge, and giving the chance to the audiance to learn more, more frequently, from peers ?
We could also consider that, in some companies that require high creativity, the book summary could be replaced with a presentation of any kind of activity that has no direct link to business, like hobbies, to bring inside the company external stimulis that can ignite creativity.
