What happens when a team or entire organization discovers what drives the them? To actually understand the whole potential of all people around and to focus on these strengths. Without distraction and with full commitment.
Organizations lost their passion, human energy and clarity to know what really adds value to clients, employees and communities in general. Management literature and too rational approaches are the wrong track. Re-inventing and bringing back these essentials is key - it's about the people.
I created a hack to discovering collective energy and drives in a day. More specific, it supports all people in their dialogue about who they are and what they have to offer. On the other hand, If energy is not (anymore) there, tough choices should be made.
As a first step we invite people in the organization to take part in a 10-minute online survey made up of four straightforward questions. From their answers, the hack (on-line tool) then creates a unique ‘self-portrait’ of the team, department or organization. The report mirrors your organization’s ‘DNA’. Participants can feel at ease as no individual feedback is generated.
During the second step we invite participants to a one-day workshop. This focuses on understanding the complex organizational issues that are rooted in the survey report. We stimulate group members to enter into a dialogue, gain insights together, come to conclusions and agree on how to take action. It’s this collective experience that creates the necessary commitment for action.
Quick & Dirty: start to ask people what really drives them in a dialogue session. Mix all employees in groups and ask them to wrap-up and tell their stories.
Next step: ask them how to mobilize all these drives and energy for their clients.
