Serve peers and customers- without the boss who will be legally and contractually accountable?

Solution

Design some explicit "systems" to operate by.

Systems that include responsibility for quality, timely delivery of product/service whilst adhering to the laws of the land.... and producing a profit whilst doing it.

These are not "nice to have", "goals" or "aims"; these are often contracted obligations between the corp. and its customer as well as legally mandated requirements.

Most business systems focus on delegating chores down the hierarchy; without a boss to take responsibility for the above, the full responsibility for requirements, obligations and accountability must also be distributed along with the chores- and distributed explicitly.

First Steps

You may serve the customer and your peers- but without a boss to be contractually and legally accountable these obligations will need to be explicitly resolved as they are flowed into the “teams”.
