Before getting to my idea part – let me set the stage first. With resources happen to be the weakest link within this planet earth’s performance (or even universe), it is a no brainer that the value of our planet earth is, as good as its weakest link only. In other words, value is always constrained by the physical resources, which in a way, is the crux of the argument behind the environmental sustainability agendas.

As it turns out, the same theme happens to be the driver behind our VOS (http://www.managementexchange.com/hack/innovating-innovation-triune-insu...) framework as well, as we asked ourselves the following

• What if, if we make the traditional resource constraints out of the value equation and declare it as irrelevant?

That is when, we learned something interesting. The only way we can declare traditional resource constraints are irrelevant is to increase the size of the value pie (to infinity?) by creatively combining virtual and physical resources, so that everyone will be motivated to collaborate and play together to increase the size of the value pie. In other words, when the size of the value pie is enlarged, it is no longer a zero sum game, as there are enough value slices available (even if all the competitors crave for the same type of value slice pie), and so, we all can be still motivated to play together in a collaborative fashion, as we are all rest assured that, there are enough slices available, for everyone.

However, all said than done, increasing the size of the value pie, by combining virtual and brick and mortar resources, in the right combination using our VRE portfolio is not that easy, and that is when, we learned something amazing when we pushed ourselves to trace insights, to its source (i.e. energy /glory of the creator), to help glean some additional perspectives.

What do we mean?

Regardless of one’s worldview (creation or evolution etc), if at all there is one agreement among most religious scholars is that, universe came into existence with a spoken word. And rightfully so, in the beginning there was a Word (the creator), and that Word said- “Let there be a light”. Granted, that Word might sound different, in different faiths - i.e. as “THE WORD”, “DVR”, “OM” or “ALLAH” – however, the common consensus, among most of them is that, all of these different sounding Words mean the same person only.

In other words, the Word, not only created the light, but also, put the “purpose driven seedal chain principle” in motion, which eventually separated the universe’s energy, into real and virtual worlds, within TIME and SPACE dimensions. What does this framing tell us? Universe’s energy is nothing but resources, and those resources originated from the spoken word or insight of God only. If we agree to this framing, then all the insights and ideas of this world, all can be traced back to this root, the creator. And then, when we predict energy or insight in TIME dimension, we get an enriched form of insights, called foresights, and then when we shift those foresights in SPACE dimension, we get strategic choices. 

Let us face it - this type of predict and shift cycle is what that, has been going on and on for centuries, since the universe came into existence.With that said, I might even go to the extent of hypothesizing that when we PREDICT insights forward in TIME dimension, we start a causal chain in motion, and when we SHIFT those foresights in SPACE dimension, we set a correlation chain in motion. Please note that it is just a hypothesis at this point in time. 

 This is where, things get lot more interesting. In other words, if we go with this framing, all insights or ideas, ever created in this universe, all can be plotted as a DOTS within TIME and SPACE dimensions, if we assume the whole universe as a two dimensional chart.

This is where my IDEA part starts within the context of this requirement i.e. to make the MIX an essential, practical resource for all the management mavericks and aspiring management innovators, I suggest we create an “UNIVERSAL INSIGHTOPEDIA” in the form of a mammoth, two dimensional chart(or map) and plot all the ideas(insights), ever created within this universe. Assuming we have one such insightopedia available, then every conceivable idea under heaven is, either already plotted or will be plotted soon, and so, anyone who comes up with a new idea, all that he/she has to do is, first try to place it within this mammoth insightopedia, and see where it gets placed within the causal (TIME dimension) and correlation (SPACE dimension) chain based map.

In other words, the first step is to frame the idea as a value-add and then place it in a proximal location to its ancestral idea, and then continue to refine it using the value-add framing, we had discussed in the previous idea section. The proximity can be defined using the PREDICTO METER and SHIFTO METER measurements, which I will be glad to get into the details, if someone wants to understand my current thinking on these measurement concepts. I hope you all get a feel for, where I am going with it this universal insightopedia concept. I suggest MIX to undertake this mammoth insightopedia project, perhaps in partnership with the tech titans like Google, Apple, FB, MS and Amazon. Once we have such Insightopedia implemented like Google map, then MIX will become the “go to” place for all resources under heaven!
