Better search and tagging

By Maddie Grant on February 8, 2013

It's very hard to find specific content here. If everyone was encouraged to tag their content with specific keywords, and the site search was better, that could go a long way. The site could work more like a fully searchable blog, with related stories/hacks/content under each new post.

You need to register in order to submit a comment.

Related idea - would love better filtering, e.g. ability to filter on Stories vs. Hacks

I could not agree more. There is great content here, but finding what you need, when you need it, is critical for this to be used as a resource. I have the same problem with my company's website, and tagging is allowing us to (start to) resolve this. The related content becomes connected, so there is no "wrong" first choice.

I agree. I often read a post and then later am talking to someone and can share the idea but have difficulty sending them to the post

Thanks for this feedback Maddie, and we agree with your assessment on this point. We're very close to deploying an upgrade to our system that will include much improved smart-tagging and tag-based navigation. So look for some definite improvements in this area in the coming weeks!
