I graduated from college in February of 1971, Mr. JKE had his motel manager Durrell Dallas ask me if I want to become a management trainee. The restaurant manager had just quit or been fired.
Knowing where to start, what model to use, metrics, governance, development, external resources, etc, etc, etc. can be overwhelming for an organization that wants to thrive in an idea economy.
The Chief Executive Officer of my Company said, “Our customer must be in the center of everything we do.” I am not sure the company’s first line managers are acting on this statement.
